It wasn't quite that long and 25km now, they are in cleanup phase with very few new cases in the last week. The 2 week lockdown in Wales will make it worse if they just open up again because after 2 weeks everyone will go out at the same time and 4 weeks from now the cases will be even higher.

@yogibbear down to 4 cases yesterday in Victoria, really for a population of 6.5 million but 2 weeks could do more harm than good.

@mstewie9718 yes it probably has but they want to be certain, 4 cases yesterday.

@DragynGirl rural Victoria had different rules, that was for Melbourne, and rural rules will be a distance or nearest essential service or anywhere for medical attention.

If you see it through like Victoria Australia and close that border with 14 mandatory quarantine except for goods transportation, but you need cases down to 50 cases per day or so to have any chance of success of containment otherwise it's keep doing the same thing over and over until herd immunity or a vaccine.

It gets worse if people aren't leaving there abode they don't need to clean anything not even the weekly shower

Not always, in as long as the arguing is done with relative respect. There have been and still are more border disputes in the states of Australia plus New Zealand than throughout Europe where it would seem rather soft border closures with no enforced hotel quarantine with guards outside your door. The effect of the border disputes in Australia was previously the states with cases asking those with no cases to open their border and the federal government wanting that too. Of course a covid free state says hell no we don't want your infectious people coming in without quarantine. Supposibly a verbal agreement was made recently about a hotspot being 30 cases over 3 days in a metropolitan area or 9 cases over 3 days in a rural area a hotspot otherwise borders open, only 2 out of 7 jurisdictions followed through so looking like we all need to be 0 otherwise other states will shut their border to you. They seem to have got cold feet when it came down to it. So the lack of political unity and direct self interest of each jurisdiction has probably created a very strong containment policy to the point where any cases occurring will likely shut your states border protecting the rest of the country.

@fatbelly27 I'm not a conspiracy theorist but if I was I could read into it some global agenda , because the lockdowns and restrictions around the world are becoming very standardised , like me being a smoker , if I could travel which I can't now I know the rules because the same everywhere. If you are locked down somewhere best of luck in helping to introduce the new world order run By Bill Gates and the CCP and watch out for those phone towers.

You need new cases down to at least no more than 1 per 100,000 per day for contact tracing to work. Anything above this it fails and that's if the contact tracing is good and test results within 48 hours.
