The US and UK are doing the same thing essentially. Some parts of the US already backtracking putting restrictions back in again. Best of luck.

@phildoodler2199 you seem to be watching , so you are helping to make him popular.

Maybe but first have to desensitize people to the deaths occurring. My country Australia and Thailand , even if we get our vaccination rates up to something like the UK I think it would be hard to convince the public to take the same course.

Canada seems to be somewhere in the middle, not hardline like Australia and New Zealand but not keep everything open with no restrictions like the US and UK to a large extent. Australia hasn't had much politicisation and in the beginning the 2 big states by population took a different view to all the other states, party affiliation didn't come into it that much with those 2 states being run by different political parties. Anyway just some anecdotes from Australia.

@tiptoe6214 Queensland Australia is up to it's 6th or 7th week of mask mandates since the pandemic began. We are the most dystopian of all along with some other Australian states, New Zealand and mainland China. The interesting thing to note is we have had mask mandates far less it would seem than the freedom places.

@Jojoeatrer the thing is some people consider society as a whole not just themselves. I am 47 had the horrible virus a bit over a year ago, probably I was worse than I thought at the time but it obviously didn't kill me. Given that I am not personally afraid of the virus however I am concerned about the society I live in which is Queensland Australia, no way do I want to see us end up like most of the rest of the world. Not sure how we will come out of it being in our current situation which is virus free essentially, the dilemma will be opening up some time in the future when very high vaccination rates which will cause some deaths. A very different dilemma to many other places.
