@ratedxxxable I am talking about the difference in use of terminology regards this outbreak between essentially containment countries and mitigation countries. I don't mean any offence, I am in Queensland and the 25 or so active cases is referred to as a serious outbreak of great concern, something along those lines. It's unfortunate the errors that were made in Victoria but it's good to see your government is now getting things under control. Hang in there all of Australia wants you to succeed. Take care.

I am in Queensland Australia and we recently had a mob of protestors protesting the lockdown primarily but had anti vaxxers and a few BLM in the mix. A strange mob really, while we have reasonably tough state border travel restrictions other restrictions are equal to or less than Sweden. One person was holding a sign saying free Victorians. Pretty bizarre really , so I think such events bring people out of the woodwork. Their might be an underlying group of people in all societies that just want to protest something.

John has adopted Western Pacific terms, if you actually listen to the rhetoric and didn't look a single number, Sweden, UK and US would seem fine because the speech especially by politicians generally says so. Australia, NZ and Thailand would be seen as countries that don't seem to be able to get things under control with continous ongoing outbreaks. The rhetoric in containment countries is basically 100% take it seriously and even 2 cases is an outbreak where people are calling for heads to roll and blaming each other for the failure. So yes it is rumbling along in NSW , QLD and VIC using Australian terminology. The US has got the virus under control with only about 40,000 cases a day and is successful and don't you forget it.
