  2. Everywhere is doing genomic testing to some extent, every case gets genomic tested in Australia and we will pick it up in border quarantine if it's out there. It is unlikely to spread from Vietnam but maybe it came from elsewhere. PS the WHO says the variant is a small mutation of the Delta variant and still considered the Delta variant, I am guessing the mutation they detected not enough to consider it a new variant.

  4.  @HuiChyr  I am sad to see the countries that initially did well falling over, even Taiwan and Vietnam look like they could lose control. Hope Malaysia as with the others can get out of this without going through a situation like the Americas and Europe.

  5. In some ways that's not a great concern, the people in the cities including the elderly would have smartphones and the cities are the bigger risk of spread. Many of the older people in villages wouldn't want to travel far, the vaccine has to come to them.

Not entirely because the vaccination rates of those most at risk aren't too bad, however the policy of going to 0 will remain for a long time because would you as the PM or one of the First Ministers come out and say we are opening everything and 5,000 will die, this type of number might still be the case even if fully vaccinated or all that want it get it.
