If you listen carefully it's still covid 0 actually, still have quarantine and contact tracing and possibility of lockdowns, it's a change to European WHO region and PAHO Pan-American Health Organization region approach but still far more stringent. They had 10 days voluntary quarantine from the start pretty much and I emphasize "voluntary" as in not actually quarantine. We will still have 14 days mandatory enforced quarantine but instead of inside a hotel being highly monitored it is intended it will move to the home, they will have problems with apartments though so have to see how they manage that. Yes NSW , VIC and ACT have pretty much accepted it's endemic now however if the modeling is correct then especially ACT and very likely NSW and VIC will go back to covid 0 when vaccination rates are 80% plus double vaccinated above 12 years. Although it hasn't been discussed much they keep shutting schools or quarantine large numbers in the rest of the world in those open countries so it's somewhat fanciful we won't do the same which is going to mean in effect covid 0 is still the policy. Parents care about their kids I am not a parent but understand the concept, even if it's only 1 in 10,000 my child badly harmed with long covid or worse I wouldn't want that and why accept that if we don't need to.
