Not at all for the big cities, so Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne are certainly no different to many European countries and all US states except the big 4 New York, California, Texas and Florida. US is actually slightly less urbanised than Australia and had they closed the borders like Australian states all the states excluding the ones I mentioned could have just as easily had Australian results. The US and Europe still to this day have nothing like the West Pacific standard border quarantine. The US still has voluntary quarantine at the border and so does Republic of Ireland along with most of Western European countries.

LoL one of 6 major countries on the planet virus free and we are too relaxed? Truth is quarantine breeches will occur it's impossible to stop them, just remember we are importing far more cases than those other 5 countries combined because Australians travel a lot. Queensland alone has imported twice as many cases as Taiwan.

Steven Moore I am not necessarily saying that SAs quarantine is good or bad and whether or not improvements can be made , just that no matter what you do it's impossible to have an airtight quarantine procedure without very extreme measures which would be unacceptable and too costly. Extreme measures is quarantine everyone on an island somewhere and nobody leaves until everyone tests negative for 2 weeks, that would work but people including the staff managing it could be stuck there for 6 months.

@janewoodman9731 I am in Queensland and honestly I think nothing to worry about in any state, quarantine breeches might still occur but they will be jumped on and no state Premier or First Minister would currently dare to reduce any quarantine measures because if there is an outbreak as a result pretty much the entire nation will be out with their pitch forks not just those inside the jurisdiction. We are all fine and when the vaccines come which is slated for March it will get much easier, I agree with not rushing the vaccines for a couple of reasons including public confidence and our northern neighbours particularly Indonesia and Philippines need it more than us which I am speculating is a part of our governments reasoning.
