  1. Please remember Australia is about number 4 as far as vaccinations go , the US is about 60th most vaccinated nation. Australia is in a much better place and can afford to not put so much pressure on the public about vaccinations.

There are many factors to consider, Greater Brisbane area plus Gold and Sunshine Coasts has about 4 million people, this is completely different to Adelaide which is completely different to Hobart or Darwin. The other issue is genuine hospital capacity and the logistics of that, WA, NT and QLD at least from a spread out point of view are in the worst situation. All our state leaders and federal government have done their best and a damn good job, NSW and VIC would still rate in the top 2 or 3 % of jurisdictions around the world. What John has shown us is we still have a great approach.

  3. There used to be a saying "whinging POMS" , all the bloody whinging of Aussies now who clearly don't know how good they've got it , I think we can't say Whinging POMS anymore. 50,000 less dead people than responses in other regions, this great and now Omicron we really dodging a bullet.

  4. Australia is 90% double vaxxed for above 16s. Is Canada? Demographics wise Canada is probably very similar to Australia but not like South Africa. They have to be cautious. Edit: just looked up our vaccination rates and about the same, but one very big variable is the weather and opposite seasons but looking at what is likely you should be fine.

  6.  @michaelfarkas2257  The US CDC gives that approximate number with regards to deaths. If the virus spreads through the vaccinated it's not too bad because less are requiring hospitalization and Omicron seems to reduce severity also but spreads like crazy.

  8. Best result in the world, don't knock it, all politicians should have to earn there keep. It's like in Australia we have 7 US CDS and that competitive federalism has produced a result I wouldn't have predicted.
