@Hurlzaz You've got about the most sensible comment in this thread, as far as the protestors they were diverse and the ABC and 7 News I saw didn't at all say they were just right wing protestors, they reported what the Union Boss said which was to downplay their members behaviour by blaming others at the protest. People have forgotten what news is, reporting what someone says is news, the journalists I saw didn't editorialize and say it was all right wingers. I do think it's "restrictions fatigue" and many Melbournians gave up in part because they see other Australian states. I am in inner Brisbane and we overall have the opposite effect, about 50% of people walking around the city area during week days at least are wearing masks despite no requirements for them to do so, we only have mandates inside shops. So even when we open the border at some unknown time I expect spread to be slow, living conditions and weather probably also helps when compared to Melbourne. Anyway best of luck and just remember you would still rate in the top 10% or so of wealthy jurisdictions around the world for least deaths per million. In the US if Victoria was a state it would look the best on several measures.
