  1.  @skepticalbadger  life wasn't cheap but if you look up life expectancy in 1918 it's only about 40 and most likely compared to know the major cause would have been bacteria through pneumonia or diarrhea for children. Some of these problems still exist in poorer countries often compounded by civil wars and especially now because of covid 19 disrupting everything. We in wealthy countries are extremely fortunate.
