It's not actually true the Western Pacific WHO region actually has countries with the highest obesity rate on the planet, certain Pacific Islands and New Zealand and Australia aren't exactly obesity free , we are fatter than 100% of European countries.

@corny5128 well of course a vulnerable person is vulnerable but saying that they would have died anyway is incorrect otherwise there would be a decrease in total deaths compared to expected because of the measures that reduced mortality and this didn't occur.

The percentages shown of excess deaths were excess deaths inside those countries , nothing to do with the total numbers of excess deaths. Remove the wealthy Western Pacific WHO region countries along with a few Northern European countries and the wealthy countries numbers look much worse. I am guessing most of Eastern Europe was classed as wealthy and just the covid 19 deaths alone were terrible.

With or from doesn't matter, in both cases in the vast majority it contributed to.

@corny5128 no on one point the records are death certificates, they do get kept and anyone can look at them I believe as long as they follow whatever process to do so. These numbers aren't just made up or something.

@corny5128 Yes I get your point that causes other than covid 19 particularly in the US were significant. Coming from Australia we did things a lot different and came from a far superior starting point as far as our healthcare systems. While their were some deferred treatments in Australia, even in Melbourne which was probably the worst didn't have delays as long as you described. My main point however is that Australia had decreased deaths until opening up and for all intensive purposes letting it rip and then as the graph displayed we had increased deaths above the expected which of course has to happen because if you remain below indefinitely then Australians would be immortal. Yes but you do realize that allowing you to move freely would have had a greater chance of killing you anyway. Hospitals are the same as nursing homes, viruses spread like crazy. While most countries never reported it early on it became clear people were dying from going to hospital not from whatever reason they went there for. Australia and Vietnam at a point in time had 10%+ deaths from people catching covid 19 in hospital. UK acknowledged some death's occurring this way. The US has a better coverup operation than China and exactly 0 reported and confirmed cases of transmission of covid 19 in hospital. Don't know where you are from but ok you believe the US propaganda if you want, 1,000,000 dead but not a single confirmed case of transmission in a hospital.
