You have to understand how the virus spreads in large ASEAN countries, the younger people often work in the cities because there is work there and higher pay, when they get holidays they travel back to their villages it's impractical and logistically difficult to send the vaccines out all over the country to reach the more elderly population which stays in the village. Also the rapid spread occurs in the big cities like anywhere, not in small villages where people stay put other than those that work in the city. To me it makes perfect sense in their situation. John finds it difficult as do many to understand the local conditions and therefore work out the logic behind certain measures. He does look at too much info without fully looking into one area in detail quite often. I remember 4 or 5 months ago he looked at the Australian numbers and made certain assumptions about weather etc. , not realising it was only 1 state and most states were virus free and travel restrictions between London and New York were far less by a major factor than to cross from an infected Australian state to another Australian state. Those restrictions are still much less between London and New York with no hotel quarantine.
