If you listened to our health minister today we have had 211,000 people pass through hotel quarantine and there have been maybe 6 breeches, that's hardly a problem and Taiwan , New Zealand and China have had the same issues. It's impossible to stop all breeches and being best practice with continuous improvement is as good as you will get. The limited hotel quarantine the UK is going to introduce will be like ours was about 7 months ago when it started except not universal , just from 30 countries only, fairly pointless I think except it should reduce travel a little bit. Another reference point might be there has been more quarantine breeches in the Whitehouse than Australia and that is one of the most secure buildings on the planet (supposibly).

@Zantorc if Australia has sheer negligence with 6 cases out of 211,000 people going through hotel quarantine what country do you come from where this standard is so high, China has had outbreaks too and retrofitting all hotels to suck air out of the hallway in other words negative pressure hotel rooms hasn't even been done in hospitals. Maybe China has done it or even built new buildings to do that Australia can't afford that to stop 6 cases , the cost benefit return would be ridiculous. By the way what country are you from?

@Zantorc it's the same to Australia and ironically you haven't noted where you are from. The hotel yes indicates have to wait 5 minutes before collect food as practiced in Australia, no indication that there is negative pressure inside the rooms and can open the windows, I happened to have most likely caught covid 19 by sitting on a balcony 6 or 7 metres from another balcony. The airflow is not as you suggested negative pressure as far as we know which is the only way and how exactly if the temperature was 35 degrees and not allowed to open windows and no aircon would people survive, I noticed a lot of people wearing heavy clothes and a suggestion the air conditioner would provide heating not cooling. Maybe China is the most perfect country on the planet however they still have outbreaks without any explanation other than maybe it's on frozen food which no other country on the planet has encountered. I smell a fish.

Depending on who is saying it , just thank those who call you Uncle Tom who was the Title Character and hero of Uncle Tom's Cabin the second most sold book of the 19th century after the bible and arguably helped end slavery as it had an abolishionist message. Ask them what they think of Josiah Henson often called the real Uncle Tom and an inspiration to Harriet Beecher Stowe in writing the novel.
