  1. It's relative, let's take US versus Australia, 6 years less life expectancy now in the US compared to Australia but that concerns very few people there. If Australia's life expectancy dropped by 6 years in one go so maybe 5% of the population or something over the age of 40 dead in one year or so we wouldn't look as calm as the US right now with exactly the same life expectancy.

  3. Your description sounds like some part of a horror movie, I know maybe wasn't meant to but I get the vision of sick people being wheeled in by these military personnel and no one coming out.

  4. Last color map I saw on one of the US news YouTube channel showed the northern states just starting to increase slowly and southern states the cases reducing. Because the US big and different climate zones it's basically always a problem in one state or another but this time might be a little different because the vaccination rates vary widely by state.

  5. Then apply the same standard to 1918 where the majority actually died from bacterial infection and most likely certain underlying causes which couldn't even be diagnosed back then.
