Nah thinks will revert back quickly, if I walked 500 metres down the road right now where have night clubs people will be lined up with about 30cm of social distancing and they allowed 1 person for 2 square metres inside I believe which isn't much space when you add in furniture. Watching videos of other countries looks strange to me, a bit like watching old videos of East Germany or The Soviet Union, especially the US with all queues for food, water, vaccines etc. , just a bit modernized the queues are often cars.

If you are right about sexual assault that's really bad, but the other stuff , to be honest they have just started it, haven't been doing it for about a year like Western Pacific countries, who have ironed out the problems. Canada and UK are still on their training wheels.

@JP-ks9nh If you really want to go all you need to show is you have leased a property elsewhere. So sign a 6 months somewhere if you so desperate to leave. You can be locked down or forced to wear masks etc. when you reach your destination.

@JP-ks9nh Have you travelled internationally without a passport before?, because unless you have done that you have asked permission every single time. Normally it's granted quite easily and the priviledges you get from being Australian are significant because under normal circumstances , you have the money to do it first of all and most countries will allow you to go there. Imagine if you were born into a family with $2 a day income in some poor country with no real hope of rising out of that. My late mother used to say the saying life is what you make it when used in a broad context is ridiculous and it's true. It's unfortunate that you didn't really care for the 40,000 or so people that would have died and would have preferred we took that path so the government could run up a much larger government deficit to allow you to travel around the world, if we followed the UK or US examples with double the government deficit. So stop whinging. At least you aren't in the US the bottom 10% or whatever have to go and live off food handouts. Anyway you do have the choice to leave at any time you just have to make an effort.

Same with Australia but a significantly different result, not saying there isn't a problem but it's not what you identified. The UK it's divided into 4 jurisdictions, one for each country within the Kingdom. Within about 2 weeks of it getting serious in Australia last March sometime if my memory is correct , 5 out of 8 states and territories shut their borders with stricter controls in place than ever happened in Europe for goods movement, every company needed to come up with a covid safe plan and have it approved for each state they travel to and from if one of the closed border states as an example. Otherwise only essential travel unless exemption like urgent medical care or special border zone travel permits with certain states. If for essential travel 14 days mandatory enforced hotel quarantine at $2,800 for a single, extra 10 days if refused to get tested at extra cost ( Queenslands rules), the cost could be exempted on compassionate grounds, probably not the extra 10 days if anyone was stupid enough not to be tested. The actions taken by Australian states could have been done by all countries mentioned, but exactly 0 states/provinces/countries (in the case of UK) took these actions, seems your provincial governments are cowardly. It could be due to listening to PAHO your regional office of WHO, all countries in the Western Pacific region of WHO did the same as Australia around the same time, top 40 countries last time I looked were in the countries covered by PAHO and European region of WHO. Maybe it's total coincidence but I think not, your offices of WHO might be to blame but only people from your region running them, WHO as a whole shouldn't be blamed and I would suggest the Western Pacific WHO office has done a good job, behind the scenes outside of politics our diverse group of countries are probably cooperating quite well, China is in that WHO grouping.
