Even though you don't know why it's possible you are correct about injecting the infection. If you look at survival rates from anthrax infection there is a far greater survival rate if the infection is through a cut in the skin versus through the lungs. It's unfortunate they don't do such an experiment with this virus in such a manner , healthy correct weight 20 to 29 year olds who have the lowest risk.

Not technically, a conspiracy theory is a theory that a conspiracy is occurring whether true or not. But I guess common usage it implies that the theorist is wrong and usually is and the use of the word theory means it isn't proven.

Why is everyone having a go at Phillip , he isn't a fundamentalist who disagrees with science. I am an atheist but should a bhuddist or muslim or christian say something nice to me , I just think that was nice. I don't need to point out anything. I hope that religious people do the same to me and most do and not expect I should agree with them.

You are mistaking failed policies versus successful policies. Every government on the planet has socialised medicine other than failed states in civil war. To remove politics means no more public health and no more grants for research and absolute trust in the market and voluntary donations by individuals or business for those that can't afford any care. Absolute trust that all drug or vaccine companies would voluntarily act in a truly ethical manner. This would be a Utopian dream in my opinion.

@justme2423 You just made the point that the US is not united because you just said it is all the fault of Democrat voters in cities. If you were united you would not be blaming one group. They do the same and blame everything on Republicans. I am Australian so just an observation.

If you make it into a hospital bed you have been highly infected because your body isn't getting rid of the virus quickly, so you become very sick. I would suggest almost every patient would have a high viral load if not all. Hope you are fine and keep the sense of humour. Take care.

You are thinking too much but not enough, the spread will always slow down over time because those moving about etc. will get it first and nobody has any immunity, so very rapid spread. The same people will be moving around after that for the most part but they can't contract or spread the virus anymore for the most part. So the rate can't keep doubling it must slow otherwise you would reach 100% fairly quickly. Are the numbers completely accurate , of course not but there isn't any conspiracy. The alcohol and tobacco ban in SA to me seemed like a bad idea and the black market sales would cause faster virus spread than keeping alcohol sales available.

@janhviljoen I don't disagree South Africa has very serious problems, just a quick look at the homicide rate demonstrates it is one of the most dangerous countries in the world. From what I have heard other South Africans speak corruption is a big problem. But there is no reason for the Covid 19 data to be corrupted because there is nothing to gain by doing so. This doesn't mean it's highly accurate and the higher the case numbers the less accurate it is likely to be. You take care of yourself the best you can and I wish you and for that matter your country the best of luck. It is sad to see South Africa not doing as well as it could be.

@justme2423 That's entirely up to you if you see no value in having awareness of other countries and not necessarily Australia. I think if you are interested in politics, to only take an inward view you are missing out because things can be learned by looking at others and will give ideas and understanding that you may not have thought of. It's also good to compare the country you belong to , to see what is done well or not as well as it could be.

@DavidGetling Be fair, you don't know Julie's personal circumstances or age. If she is in a low risk group 20 to 40 and not overweight or any major health problems then I would say don't worry about it too much. If for whatever reason she is high risk then yes take care, we have seen Victoria , however NZ seems it acted quick enough to get it under control, similar active case numbers to NSW and even if they haven't been perfect not looking like it will get out of control. I have the impression NZ is a bit like QLD, you could murder someone and they would find the last covid case before the authorities come looking for you. In other words very proactive and taking nothing for granted.
