  1. While it's clear that China was a fairly big customer of US made cars, the bigger effects might come from other countries especially wealthy ones with a good free trade set up. Australians for example can buy cars made anywhere and we don't make any domestically. We've been hit with the steel and alumina tariffs. I won't surprise me if Australians start boycotting US brands especially Tesla which happens to be Chinese made. BYD has a far better value electric vehicle line.up in Australia than Tesla does anyway. I can see Ford and GM brands being affected accross most of the world and other than for Canada and Mexico it won't hurt any of us due to all the alternatives.
