  2. Is the US not a federation and the federal government has absolutely nothing to do with crime within a state? In Australia the states manage these issues and we don't have unviable tiny police forces at county or city level. Bring in state policing the local and county can't do the job in part because broke cities have high crime rates and can't fund policing. The federal government has nothing to do with it just like they can't affect the world oil price, you are not some all powerful socialist utopia.
