As an Aussie it's clear her general statement that police officers don't stop crime is correct. The US has a homicide rate 5 times that of every other wealthy country on average and notably NY is a low crime state compared to many red states. You are a violent country and also remarkably have the highest imprisonment rate, so tough on crime isn't working either. Sorry US but you are a mess, institute decent social welfare including universal healthcare like the rest of wealthy nations and you will do better.
