The tech bros because they compared to business size don't import or export tangible goods, they also make major profits internationally.

Unfortunately that's basically impossible. There's reporting in Australia how our use of that service for remote areas is a risk. It might be time for governments to get together to get an alternative service on national security grounds noting the US and Musk are aligned with Russia, China and North Korea.

I think he is actually delusional and believes in his ideas.
3
If that's true it will essentially end in 2035 because that's when administrators have worked out it will have a 0 balance.
2
So you're blaming a free market guy for a crazy protectionist? Also Reagan while I think he reduced corporate tax it was only down to 35% not 21% like now. Reagan also raised the federal minimum wage once at least. Trump and Biden both didn't raise the minimum wage, also while not making things worse Biden was a protectionist low taxing high deficit president. Most of the US problems particularly with government debt have occurred since George W Bush and every president since failing to change course regarding economic issues and invading both Iraq and Afghanistan.

I disagree with Americans are the angriest people in a wealthy country in the world. They have become tribal and somewhat superstitious about the opposite tribe. Both sides in US politics on non social issues are actually far closer together than Americans realise because very few Americans have knowledge outside of the US. The US is developing into a socialist country that helps billionaires and picks industries. Some refer to that as fascism which I suppose it is. There are successful countries that lean to the right, free market economy countries like Australia and New Zealand and there are countries that lean to the left not very open economies with lots of subsidies for agriculture as an example like Northern Europe and Japan. I am Australian and think the free market is the way to go but can understand those other countries preferring something different. But one thing we all have in common is a generally better welfare safety net and better healthcare than the US does for a not well off person.
2
Well not really, prior to civil rights era it it wasn't good for African American people and since then wages haven't gone up in real terms. The US currently ranks lowest for life expectancy, fairly poorly with education and the highest homicide rate about 6 times the average (when US is excluded) for a wealthy country. Yes people from very poor often more violent countries might look up to the US but not people from comparable countries as in other wealthy countries.
2
In 4 years time the US government debt will likely be $45-50 Trillion. I don't believe either political party will fix that. The free market will however at some point in time and it will be painful. I think the main reason nothing has happened yet is because the USD is the main reserve currency of the world.
2
True, he promised tariffs. That wasn't a surprise.
2
I think she's a bit too young for that, maybe few terms later. Better for her to be leader in Congress first.
2
Population has nothing to do with anything. Canada imports things like vehicles and machinery from the US and exports a lot of primary products. Remove 1 product oil and Canada has a trade deficit.
2
Elon agrees with free speech as much as Trump is a free market capitalist.
1
I sort of saw this coming. Elon goes in using unfair trading practices and undercuts the competition slightly making himself a hero for MAGA.
1
@James-m8x3b It's a completely separate fund , look it up yourself " usa social security trust fund". It's 100% invested in US government bonds.
1
Impeachment by large majority in the senate is the only way to stop a rogue president. Currently all Republicans are silent which means they approve of Donald's actions.
1
I agree with Donald's position but as suggested it needs to be done the right way. Australia used to have what the US calls birthright citizenship by law but we changed the law to be anyone born to an Australian citizen or permanent resident , only needs to be one parent not both.
1
It's not going to, trust me Trump will announce another crazy plan probably within 24 hours.

When it relates to non citizens what is occurring at Tesla showrooms is considered terrorism. It meets the legal definition. In 32 states plus Washington DC there is an offence of terrorism, there definitions vary greatly regarding what acts are considered terrorism but they all include the act being done to try and influence governments policy. Sentencing also varies widely. Some put the specific act of arson being a terrorist act. So burn a Tesla in Florida for example and your online footprint can prove your intent ypu could get up to 30 years prison time. Do the same thing in California you are looking at up to 3 years prison for arson of that type of property as long as nobody in the vehicle of course. Best if commentators admit US laws are extremely strict in some states with potentially very long sentences rather than talking about what you would prefer the law to be.
1
Canada is sort of surrounded, US on a couple of sides and Russia on the other side.
1
I don't think the economy will shrink or not much depending on how effective the deportations go. What is more likely is stagflation. People will spend the same in dollar terms but get less. Retailers will suffer pretty much accross the board even if it's 100% US made products they are selling because people will simply have less money. Also even if selling 100% US products this doesn't mean costs haven't increased fpr the retailer a shop fit out will cost more and costs need to be passed on.
1
Many cultures men wear skirts primarily when they dress up in traditional clothing.
1
Justice won't prevail, that much is clear.
1
Israel has broken the ceasefire deal with Trump's approval. Netanyahu and Trump are to blame for hostages not being released.
1
They don't, they mostly buy US government bonds I think. So instead of taxing big corporations you are becoming indebted to them.
1
Actually they're pretty good. The problem is some brands in China and Tesla Cybertruck are rushing them out too quickly with too many faults. BYD claims that they now have the technology to recharge a vehicle in 5 minutes, making it pretty much the same as filling up a gasoline vehicle.
1
@Stephen-cr3sc I agree that they aren't saving emissions in any meaningful way at the moment and the cybertruck is probably far worse than a basic hybrid car. However they are advancing quickly and V2G (vehicle to Grid) technology will likely become a reality within a few years, once that happens it's a game changer because renewables like solar and wind can charge the vehicle when electricity coming in and the vehicle power the grid when renewable not producing electricity. It's probably a few more years after the v2g becomes a reality until a power grid can run like that which will probably be the hard part.
1
Well you shouldn't be because the largest block of voters were those who declined to vote and effectively supported Donald Trump should he win. Maybe only consider your small group of Democrat voters.
1
Plastic is made from oil. when Donald's tariffs on oil from Mexico and Canada come into effect the company's imput costs go up.
1
Regulations be good or bad and increase or decrease economic activity. Healthcare is highly regulated in the US to protect bad behaviours and massive profit gouging. So does that increase economic activity, yes for Healthcare industry it clearly does by protecting companies from outside competition and even internal competition rules like exist in most places like price fixing. Does it increase economic activity in the US as a whole, it lowers life expectancy so that's a negative and it's sort of like a 5% tax on the US's entire GDP so probably fair to say it's a negative for overall economic activity in the US. When Donald talks about deregulation he purely referring to only a couple of things such as allowing companies to bribe government officials overseas, lowering environmental regulations to allow more pollution and allowing price fixing etc, with every industry. He isn't talking about deregulation of markets to increase competition, he's in fact doing the exact opposite with tariffs trying to create some distopia where basic manufacturing is favoured over complex manufacturing, making steel and aluminium producers more money so they can expand operations that wouldn't be possible without protection or in other words encourage inefficient production at the expense of machinery and vehicle manufacturers in particular. Chairman Mao had similar views to Donald.
1
I would suggest border protection is an international policy not a domestic one. It's absurd to suggest that a US government doesn't have the power to stop a real invasion if one occurs.
1
That's a given unless martial law is declared or something like that.
1
A lot of government rules based on a constitution or laws of a country are essentially based on honesty. This isn't anything unique about the US it's the way every country operates. The US however as a country is more vulnerable that say a country like mine Australia because one person the president is the head of state and head of government and chooses the entire unelected executive government which he/she can fire at will to ensure only loyalists in every position of power.
1
This isn't about money because Musk's actions are losing contracts all around the world. This is about control, don't know why but Elon and or Donald want the power to shut down civilian air traffic. This could be something to do with imposing martial law somewhere and making travel more difficult and timely to that area to make it difficult for outside protesters to get in.
1
If the market was down due robust and effective enforced of competition policy stopping price gouging in the US that would actually be a good thing. That isn't what is happening though.
1
Are you sure, your current allies are Russia, China and North Korea?
1
That means there's about 7% of people in complete denial because they hate Elon but are ok with Donald.
1
So a mere $20 million for a typical family of 4. Most rich people do have a family. Trump is damaging everything. International students will now favour the other 5 eye countries if they want an English speaking country. The other thing is if they get kicked out after finishing education the highly qualified ones will be able to find jobs in lots of other countries.
1
The fossil fuel industries will be looking at solar power and electric vehicle take up rates along with new developments with battery technologies. Basically although it will take a long time fossil fuel use will decline except for plastics manufacturering and steel production where no cost effective viable alternatives really exist.
1
One of the chilling cuts was all travel cards of the EPA. This means they can't travel to a location to carry out tests in the environment to check for pollution or other environmental issues.
1
Once Trump gets into power his popularity will plummet after a month or two. When contradictory things are promised with no possibility of achieving both outcomes support will be lost. Let's just look at one policy tariffs and a world trade war US versus everyone else except maybe North Korea because they don't like to trade much either. Either Trump follows through and all exporters, importers and retailers have lower profits, hurting lots of billionaires. Middle and low income consumers hurt by the higher prices due to taxes and people being let go as American like to say from jobs in all those sectors. That scenario a lot of people unhappy. Opposite scenario is Trump doesn't start any trade war and all the foolish supporters looking forward to the trade war will feel they have been lied to and become disillusioned. Same sort of thing with mass deportations. Then you have the rise of the antivax block who are going to push healthcare costs up and make everyone else angry about that. All of Trump's main policies will actually increase the government deficit over the short to medium term.
1
Looking in from afar i don't really agree with your rant but understand your frustration. I would also point out Trump theoretically had about 2 thirds support of potential voters because choosing not to vote means you support his direction at least as much as Kamala's positions. 2 thirds is an extremely large majority, normally only seen in dictatorships where people are close to being forced to vote.
1
Wondering why the previous video clip had comments turned off. It would be interesting to see what people on your channel thought of the mild pro Trumper. He said that Trump is better, a person literally threatening to tank the North American economy, carrying out a retribution campaign and increasing the US government deficit as just a few examples. How anyone who is American supports that I don't know. What stood out about that person was he knowingly is supporting that, he didn't seem to be a MAGA cult member who can't believe his eyes and ears.
1
How do you deal with $45-50 Trillion in government debt? I don't think either party is capable of that and government debt will keep rising rapidly until a major problem occurs. The only real protection the US has and the reason why nothing has happened yet is the USD being the main reserve currency of the world.
1
Maybe in a few hundred years there might be a note in history of the second dark age in the US.
1
Here's the thing. Trump has made an excellent move. The implied threat is if you don't you are fired. If I am a career public servant and due to my skill set would find it hard to find another job I would have to consider doing what Trump says, I don't lose anything, it would be my department or agency breaking the law and not me legally speaking.
1
If Epstein did keep a diary releasing it wouldn't be helpful unfortunately because it could be made up. Whether people like it or not upholding rule of law and not defaming people is important. If evidence actually existed of crimes committed by others then they would have already been prosecuted. If theres proof of crimes having been committed however the statute of limitations has caused that to no longer be able to be prosecuted releasing that information is ok.
1
I think the only way for the company to recover outside of China is completely new ownership.
1
Although not significant any sales outside of North America will basically go to 0. I am Australian and we get tariff free vehicles from countries like China, South Korea, Japan and Thailand.
1
I had to listen twice. Trump's entire tax plan as he stated before the election was to reduce the corporate tax rate to 15% and to put tariffs on all imported goods. The obvious effect is some billionaires get richer , not all though and middle and low income people pay more in taxes through tariffs. Supposedly Republicans voted on economic issues the most, they liked his plans but seem to be having buyers remorse even though so far it looks like the corporate tax rate will remain at 21% and not be reduced as promised in the campaign.
1
Donald is doing a great job. If polling is correct or close to that he has united Americans overall thinking both parties are bad. The job isn't finished he has to cause a recession with lots of job losses so that he can sink the Republican party properly. Like a Phoenix something will rise from the ashes from one party or another.
