  1. Regulations be good or bad and increase or decrease economic activity. Healthcare is highly regulated in the US to protect bad behaviours and massive profit gouging. So does that increase economic activity, yes for Healthcare industry it clearly does by protecting companies from outside competition and even internal competition rules like exist in most places like price fixing. Does it increase economic activity in the US as a whole, it lowers life expectancy so that's a negative and it's sort of like a 5% tax on the US's entire GDP so probably fair to say it's a negative for overall economic activity in the US. When Donald talks about deregulation he purely referring to only a couple of things such as allowing companies to bribe government officials overseas, lowering environmental regulations to allow more pollution and allowing price fixing etc, with every industry. He isn't talking about deregulation of markets to increase competition, he's in fact doing the exact opposite with tariffs trying to create some distopia where basic manufacturing is favoured over complex manufacturing, making steel and aluminium producers more money so they can expand operations that wouldn't be possible without protection or in other words encourage inefficient production at the expense of machinery and vehicle manufacturers in particular.
