  1. Well not really, prior to civil rights era it it wasn't good for African American people and since then wages haven't gone up in real terms. The US currently ranks lowest for life expectancy, fairly poorly with education and the highest homicide rate about 6 times the average (when US is excluded) for a wealthy country. Yes people from very poor often more violent countries might look up to the US but not people from comparable countries as in other wealthy countries.
