Maybe things get better with supplies for medical care but slowing the spread to any great extent takes a few months normally.

It can't really happen because needs at least 95% compliance rate to have a great effect, if the government of a jurisdiction doesn't care you won't get such a high voluntary compliance rate, it's a case of try to protect yourself and loved ones.

There is no evidence of that but a broken system, as I saw one report it basically said unless sick people who eventually get admitted to hospital and tested they just get taken away for burial or cremation. So the real number of deaths will be correct although that data might be delayed and they will be able to calculate the excess deaths to what should be expected. They will never be able to untangle the cause of the excess deaths because 3 contributing causes occur, covid 19, preventable deaths from other causes due to not being admitted to overstretched hospitals and deaths caused by lockdowns . I don't know exactly why but the Australian data showed excess deaths from diabetes and heart disease during our countrywide lockdown a year ago, numbers were quite small because the lockdown was fairly short, the US had 200,000 deaths from covid 19 at the same time as 100,000 excess deaths not from covid 19 from January 26 to October 3 as calculated by their CDC because of their continuous lockdown lite model so it is real, I don't know the breakdown of what those excess deaths were in the US.
