  1. Not to minimise the $120 billion spent by the US but it pales in comparison to the cost of unjustified invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and for that matter the total amount sent to Israel to keep an oppresive apartheid system.

  2. To be fair there was a lot of hope that Russia would become a democracy, however it became a far right dictatorship as did China. It is interesting to see how China transitioned from far left to far right seamlessly.
