If the traffic lights aren't working then it's useless I would think unless it needs a green light to go through an intersection that has lights. A driver still needs to have control. The other thing that seems to have happened in this case was the car's GPS thought it was still on the freeway otherwise it would have slowed down if it had full self drive. Drive safely and be aware of current limitations.

When Ruben spoke about how he got information from his direct circle of contacts without looking around every other person nodded. This indicates the biggest problem that has occurred. His last comment is look for real information. Without discounting the others I think he made the best point.

I noticed a Japanese and South Korean flag in one of those mobs fairly close together, what's with that? Not sure Japan or South Korea would approve.
16
I think he handled well, the caller wanted him to get angry or something. Well done Biden.
12
No judge is going to be that corrupt in any wealthy democracy. It would be extremely unlikely or rare even in poor countries that have significant corruption problems.
11
Studies conducted when kids weren't at school and was essentially the Wuhan variant not the Delta variant. It's going to spread like crazy in schools unless high vaccination rates which will slow the spread but not stop it.

@mikkiduncan2497 Every major leader in the world has congratulated President Elect Biden on his win so I am unsure what makes you think people in other countries don't believe/agree with the outcome that has occurred.
8
I think democratic leaders are laughing but dictators are laughing even harder.
8
Reminds me of an ad I saw in a South East Asian country some time ago telling people to stop at red lights, I think that country has moved on since then to be a reasonable developing nation with citizens who understand the basics now, the US is reverting back to being a developing nation by modern standards.
8
Yes ignoring whatever they might be in there for it is pretty impressive especially in this modern day.
7
That poll represents fox viewers. Even though outside of Comrade Tucker Carlson the actual policy opinions of Fox commentators agrees with Biden's position, they also continually express how Trump would have done it better despite Trump actually stating his position at the start of the invasion that Putin is a genius. Sounds like Trump fully approved of the invasion to me.
7
It's worse than that , even the dose for the animal would not have as strict accuracy as for a human and there could be additives that aren't approved for human use at all, it's not up to the manufacturer to bring it up to human standard.
7
That's just a ridiculous statement.
6
Some commenters in this thread need to watch a few episodes of COPS, this guy could have been a highly dangerous individual on drugs, to a policeman that's what he probably looked like, his behaviour was consistent with a criminal playing games. Turns out he wasn't but the cops actually aren't psychic. Just putting myself into the shoes of the cops and what they commonly deal with in the US.
6
This is going to sound a little cruel but I wish the US media should report on US cities in the same manner , or to be honest only in the local areas. 10 deaths in a week or so for a population of 8 million or so, that would be record low crime in any large US city. Look inwards people but also don't ignore the outside such as this because you are a superpower.
5
I am not American and not christian but I think you have the right message for all actually not just christians or religious people, it's a human thing.
5
Sandy Allen are you serious a multi billion dollar industry can't afford a device such as you just used to store a backup?
5
No evidence the school knew he had a gun already. The parents however knew he had it on him most likely, I don't believe any of their excuses.
5
Twitter is going broke, it's doomed in my opinion.
5
Get back to me in 6 months when he has tanked the North American economy. Australia will be ok , while it will hurt us too it won't be anywhere near as bad as North America.
5
Every other wealthy country on the planet is safer than the US by a significant margin. So your theory is clearly not correct.
5
@rushlimbaugh4641 so you think an elderly person in a developing nation should die so that a 25 year old American can get a vaccine first? It's a difficult ethical problem however I personally think it should be given according to need.
4
But not many deaths.
4
I was thinking Americans don't even have a high income country standard of healthcare, maybe a hospital or something would be a good idea.
4
Maybe modify them and put around the prison industrial complex in the US . Maybe they were pioneers . The land of the free with the most prisoner in a high income country.
4
You are wrong, let them talk. The idea of more self censorship in your media is really really bad. How partisan do you want your media to be, aren't CNN and Fox partisan enough for you? Shouldn't interviews be to find out in the case of politicians what they are thinking?
4
You have just made me realize the problem. When you defeat an enemy you must make them submit. The north didn't bother finishing the war. Ironically there are better relations between the US and Germany or Japan than internally at this exact point in time. How many in the US are clinging onto very old history I don't know but it's clearly an issue. Also to ask someone to denounce their ancestry is ridiculous. Go back 150 years through the family tree the entire population of the planet has been wronged by someone. Most people don't know their family tree that far back that's just for curious people.
4
Heschewingonit You are spot on the money. While some European countries are much more socialist , less socialist countries like my own Australia direct our limited socialism towards the needy not corporations and expecting the socialist trickle down effect. Although to be fair it does "trickle down" it doesn't really flow down. See Economic Freedom Index by Heritage Foundation and you will notice the free market economies as rated all have universal healthcare as an example.
4
It's about procedure and there's no rush as such because they've already charged him with something so can arrest him. In retrospect though he should have been monitored before he went on the run.
4
In response to the headline, no kidding. It would be shocking news if he didn't. Putin saying sorry I got it wrong would be akin to Trump saying that Biden won the election fair and square.
4
@SiFunag99 Surprised Trump didn't blame China for US gun violence because they did invent gun powder, maybe they didn't tell the world how dangerous it was .
4
He raised money to save the NHS now the shoe is on the other foot. Let's hope he gets better.

@AG They probably are safe but need to do trials first because different age groups and sexes react differently. With the Astrazeneca vaccine for people below 60 there is higher risk and women below 40 highest risk of major side effects. Pfizer is apparently close to getting approval for 2 - 11 year olds and I know Moderna wants to do trial for that age group in the US and Australia. So looking like the MRNA will be fine for kids but J+J and AZ won't be so probably they won't even do trial.
3
Those 2 lovely young ladies in the last story are so sweet and caring, if I was ever in hospital I would certainly want them to be one of my nurses after they finish that training.
3
"the former president Brendon" , I had to re-listen 4 times. It's a classic, well done Chuck Todd for slipping it in there and nobody batted an eyelid. About minute 34.45 .
3
@windandsun9615 Many if not most democracies of a reasonable size have a Senate or equivalent which ensures smaller states or equivalent get more of a say, it seems to work quite well actually. I do however think the US presidential race should be by popular vote and include Puerto Rico residents along with preferential or automatic run off voting where the candidates are all voted for by numbering 1,2,3 etc.
3
@larryo6874 You got it wrong too, no you have had a 0.24% chance of already dying from covid 19, your chance of dying using that metric keeps increasing you can't bring those Americans back to life like resetting a video game.
3
Totally agree and publically previously it was said everyone is working together. I am also uncertain how more researchers having knowledge around the world would affect the US response.
3
At least he said he would leave, that's a start.
3
If you look at the offender race with homicides by those categorized as black it's about 4 times that of white offenders and as such the rate that a gun is pulled upon a suspect based on race is entirely consistent. Racism is not the primary issue, the primary issue is who commits crime more as a group. If course the US needs to fix it's policing issues but a bigger issue is the homicide rate is 5 times that of comparable countries and in many inner cities it's more dangerous than many poor corrupt countries.
3
There's 2 of them apparently and one has gone public.
3
@davidt9238 They tried to and parents refused as far as we know. Teachers shouldn't have to be policemen and lawyers. There's probably some ridiculous procedure they would have to follow calling social services etc.
3
Not sure about that, stupidity kills. I know what you mean but you cover a whole category of risk takers who do die. Having a calm demeanor might be a better way to describe it.
3
It's about disfunction. The costs to the US on a per capita basis are going to end up well in excess of best practice. Go hard go fast and be serious in the beginning. Now you seem to be past a point of no return. People are not going to accept all wearing masks closed state borders and serious quarantine. It was not acceptable in your country when it could have made a difference and it won't be acceptable now. I just say take care of yourself the best you can and best of luck.
3
Really? Australia is the only country declared to be an enemy. If they owned us why would they call us an enemy, they don't even refer to the US as an enemy.
3
To get consistent terminology Hurricane Katrina was windy light shower that caused some minor disruptions.
3
Bars and restaurants are still open , stay away from those places to protect yourself, family and friends. I would think that wearing N95 masks versus cloth as many use. For long time periods though surgical masks are much easier to wear and fairly high efficacy. Proper masks would help more than goggles and difficult to wear goggles all day I think.
3
But 0.08% of the entire US population has died already from this so your survival rate can't be correct and now deaths are approaching 2,000 per day so it hasn't stopped.
3
Because in the beginning the US didn't take it seriously and has remained one step behind not keeping up with case increases. The US will probably end up doing more tests per capita than any other country by the time this finishes.
3
Looking from afar the biggest fear munger is probably DeSantis , he is a true tyrant, he believes in control of private business, the exact opposite of a conservative. Imagine if you were a cruise ship owner and the government says by law you are not permitted to protect your crew and passengers because the dear leader doesn't allow. DeSantis peddles the fear that the other side will do what he has done to the cruise industry, that is government control and interference in private industry. The most amazing thing is nobody in the US seems to have blinked an eyelid at such behaviour which would be totally inline with something that might occur in Beijing.
