  1. No evidence the school knew he had a gun already. The parents however knew he had it on him most likely, I don't believe any of their excuses.

  2.  @davidt9238  They tried to and parents refused as far as we know. Teachers shouldn't have to be policemen and lawyers. There's probably some ridiculous procedure they would have to follow calling social services etc.
