Maybe modify them and put around the prison industrial complex in the US . Maybe they were pioneers . The land of the free with the most prisoner in a high income country.

You have just made me realize the problem. When you defeat an enemy you must make them submit. The north didn't bother finishing the war. Ironically there are better relations between the US and Germany or Japan than internally at this exact point in time. How many in the US are clinging onto very old history I don't know but it's clearly an issue. Also to ask someone to denounce their ancestry is ridiculous. Go back 150 years through the family tree the entire population of the planet has been wronged by someone. Most people don't know their family tree that far back that's just for curious people.

@thach8956 Do you mean those still inside Vietnam or those who get to US or another country as refugee before?
2
You don't say. There are more slaves in India currently living as ever were in the US. Most slavery these days is by black and brown people against black and brown people. Leaders don't endorse it but it doesn't get stopped.
2
If you mean we human beings, yep you are right, countries that are more powerful take advantage of less powerful ones. This is normal up until very recently when this doctrine is being questioned in Western countries in particular. Slavery is not acceptable any more in Western country , however this is not the case in many other countries.

You are aware the US destroyed the Philippines economically after independence with a corrupt Philippines president getting some sugar concessions. There was a one way free trade deal everything imported into Philippines tax free and almost everything exported to US taxed. Although this situation did finish some time ago , how do you feel about US people white and black who have gained from you?

@TeemElohim so 10,000,000 slaves in India is not an issue and off topic. Isn't slavery one of the worst human behaviours? Are there any slaves in the US well yes there is but most of them are probably Asian and it's in the 1,000s are these people worthless because they aren't black?
1
@TeemElohim well transported as slaves directly to US about 500,000 give or take. The total numbers of slaves that ever were in the US seems difficult to find and would include born as a slave which is possibly a larger number. If you are concerned about black people being enslaved what about the estimated 9,000,000 on the African continent living at the moment. Hey email me if you want, would love to discuss with you kliddle2AThotmail.com

@TeemElohim what is it that you want? You don't care about slaves actually only your ancestors. And you think there are more than 9,000,000 slaves in Africa currently. Prison isn't slavery that's an acceptable concept throughout the world, if you do a crime you are subject to confinement for the purpose of punishment and or rehabilitation.

They sort of are equal, both defeated people.
1
Your numbers a bit out, there are millions not thousands. In fact there are currently more living slaves that ever existed in the US.

Fatima Ramjoo I am Australian but maybe I can shed some light. In Australia and US if you say you are in Australia's case Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander ( our native people) you can access certain extra government help and services. US has similar programs I believe but covers more than one group.
1
Fatima Ramjoo what do you mean wiped out. A number were killed outright and most likely the major killer was disease. Australia without modern technology and imported crops was a pretty harsh country to live in so the population wasn't that large and there is only estimate available like everywhere at that time. It does make sense but I would object strongly if that concept applied to any other group. Currently the indigenous population which includes mixed race is about 3% . Race is by self identification to a certain extent. It's based on census data.
1
Fatima Ramjoo I had a look at the site you showed me. I only skimmed through it but did notice it said only 70% of people believed this occured. If that number is correct that's not very good. As you can see the total numbers were not large but all over the place. With the American statues I don't really have that strong an opinion and you can see if you read many comments both black and white people are divided over the issue both inside of their own group and between each group. My opinion is the statues shouldn't have been allowed to be built in the first place because was after they lost the war it seems. Keeping the pre war buildings is fine and doesn't seem to have much contention anyway. The rock used to display a slave on for sale , again I don't know it's up to them.

Hello. What's that supposed to mean.
1
T West that's just a silly comment. Guns and large numbers of people might have something to do with conquering indigenous people in the US.

Polly Ticks interacial marriage was only permitted by law in Alabama in 2000. Just a few years after 67.
1
Polly Ticks the law in Alabama was unenforceable because it was unconstitutional as you have just pointed out. The thing is keeping that in the books until 2000 sent a certain message and not a good one unfortunately. Symbolism matters a lot to some otherwise why does anyone care about some statues of people that died more than 100 years ago.

@autismospectrumlini914 not exactly, the African is technically a pure breed homosapian, all the rest of us have neanderthal in our blood, it can be as high as 2% apparently. Those in Asia Pacific have Denesovin in there blood also.
1
T West yes disease killed many but the proportion , I don't know and that was the same in Australia also. There are many parallel but significant differences between what occured in the US and Australia regarding the indigenous people.
