  1. Should say explicit government discrimination. East Asian countries of China, South Korea and Japan are extremely racist, they even hate their fellow east Asians. As a tourist it doesn't really matter as they are safe countries and will be friendly to tourists, if you're a foreign worker however it can be problematic as you can never be treated as an equal.
