It doesn't change anything now and one can only hope the " freedom to infect" and voluntary quarantine and isolation are seen for what they are which is absolute failures. Australia is criticised for imprisoning some serious offenders regarding health orders which if not stopped means entire populations going through on again off again house arrest. In fact the most common call for such offenders was lock them up for maximum sentence applicable, because people here really don't like the actions of others to potentially shut their business down and put them under house arrest. It's like we are in alternate worlds.

That's just silly. You can talk about a particular conservative government if you want but don't include Australia where the left and right side of politics took exactly the same approach and supported each other, noting that many state governments are the opposite party to the federal government and looking at this particular issue only you would not be able to identify which party is which.

It's not possible to give a good answer to the questions because certain things can't really be defended, the only thing he could actually say is at the end we should compare. As an Australian my response is ok fair enough mate, but unless Australian plus New Zealand governments change course and deliberately infect the population it's not really looking like the UK could be seen as better at any point in time.
