  1. The price South Africa is getting the Indian produced AZ vaccine under a different name is double what the EU is paying. This doesn't mean it's not at cost because the cost structure could be very different.

  3. Unfortunately everyone is doing it. Russia doesn't care for it's citizens that much so they can give the vaccine to others, China is in no rush with all but one province with no problems I believe.

Funny arguments in this thread governments are paying for the lot and once Oxford found a partner in Astrazeneca smart governments should have all said everywhere in the world at cost thanks just like this good company. They would have agreed because they still want the government funding and at cost means not losing money because will cover all costs so no risk and good publicity. The development of the Moderna vaccine was done with the US NIH.

The company took no risk so was in a not lose/win situation, the US government put themselves in a lose lose situation, why do that? Germany funded the Biontech research with €375 million Trump claimed the Biontech Pfizer vaccine was a part of warp speed but the company said differently. So Biontech was in a win not lose situation and the German government in a lose lose situation. If you pay for something you call the shots. Both the German and US governments handed over money so that companies don't have any risk and asked nothing in return, not even limiting the profits. Bad policy.
