What's wrong with Tritium, that's the so called nuclear waste, I can buy tritium vials from Alibaba, check if you don't believe me.

@danbear1764 First of all it would make it far more expensive so why do it and the water will be diluted by however much , are you certain that in still water it won't accumulate, I would think that's a distinct possibility because it's physically heavier. The concern even within Japan is they don't trust the government, China is capitalizing on this , Chinese government knows the water will be just like water released from every nuclear plant in the world which has extra tritium. Is it possible that China thinks the water won't be treated properly and all other radioactive materials removed, I doubt it otherwise they would just say they want the IAEA to monitor the treatment and dilution process. It doesn't start until next year and will be done over 20 years or so, so it's going to be extremely dilute. I would expect they would just mix it with regular treated sewerage from the closet major treatment plant before that's dumped in the ocean. There is nothing to worry about if the Japanese do what they say and no reason to think they won't, if they sent untreated radioactive waste as in with other radioactive materials of course the whole world would get angry including Japanese citizens so they wouldn't risk doing that even if they wanted to.

@danbear1764 thanks for the somewhat detailed history, it's clearly a matter of trust because of previous history. The only way to solve that if it is the real underlying issue is foreign monitoring of the process.

Comments didn't disappoint , all the anti and pro China stuff. Pro China people think non Chinese media shouldn't tell any news about China no matter what because the CPC might get offended and anti China every problem in the world is from China so even if this space junk does no damage , it doesn't matter they are probably causing some other problems anyway.
