  1. Not all vaccine manufacturers have applied to the WHO, that's probably got more to do with anything than what you suggest along with what stage they are at, only 2 approved so far from what I can see.

  2.  @TAL142  The problem seems to be other than the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine all the rest have plenty of vaccine nationalism attached. To me that's the only one that comes out looking good because they allowed any qualified manufacturer to make it without any royalties or anything for the " time of the pandemic" and manufacturers must sell at cost. If all companies did what they did things would be better. The US , China and Russia all just as bad in my opinion. Russia seems to be doing the opposite to say the US and selling the vaccine elsewhere even their population not vaccinated which they don't see to care about. I expect Covax will only work properly when most rich countries with the most serious problems get their situation under control. So Covax nice in theory but not working as well as it could, significant money has gone into it though.

  4. I think the general position of governments is they want you to get the vaccine so you are better protected and therefore less likely to catch it and spread it again. In other words in theory it should help for herd immunity.
