Comments by "annoyed aussie" (@annoyedaussie3942) on "A quarter of global COVID-19 deaths have been in Latin America | COVID-19 Special" video.
India's deaths per Capita are much lower than most of Latin America. US and most of Europe are similar to Latin America.

@barbarawarren9443 All the borders in PAHO Pan-American Health Organization and European WHO region were open almost throughout with very minor hiccups like some Eastern European countries who didn't want to but towed the regional line eventually. 10 days voluntary quarantine is an open border. The countries in the Western Pacific WHO region all have "closed" borders throughout 14 days mandatory enforced usually hotel quarantine, China has now gone to 21 days. Not all countries in that region have done that well but the worst performing country , the Philippines has still done far better than most countries in the aforementioned regions. If the world had the same approach as the Western Pacific region it would probably be over now eliminating it from the last few countries, the variants wouldn't have evolved or not spread noting no variant of concern has originated in the Western Pacific region.

Never heard that before but I think sounds like there is something in it, political systems are always moving in one direction or another.

I do agree India's numbers aren't accurate but I would be surprised if more than double the official numbers. Even doubling it they are not too bad , but they are a fairly young population and the poorer people less likely to die because they are not obese. Delhi however is actually one of the fattest cities on the planet with a 50% obesity rate , that's why at least anecdotally they were so bad.
