Maybe in an emotional sense however a 30% tax on everything that does almost nothing to Chinese exports to the US is completely different to trying to cripple certain industries with 80% or 200% tariffs and other measures. Cool heads will prevail eventually or at least I hope so.

@jimboydejuan7869 in past history everyone was racist and so what. Australia is welcoming to all however this doesn't mean we don't have some racists of all shades just like every country on the planet.

@lesongliu7111 if that occurs in the near future Australia and China go from on top to in deep recession. It's not going to happen everyone have too much to lose , no iron ore and metallurgical coal to China and we are as I described, both stuffed.

@lesongliu7111 by the way 3 voices on the internet or sky News Australia is not Australia. Out of 1.4 billion people in China if not censored I can find 10 people who will say anything, it's just a matter of probability. Australia doesn't have any significant censorship so I can find 1,000 Australian people who actually support China against Australia, actually not that difficult.

Huawei can do business in Australia, just not the 5g network.

Australia and China can't cut ties , it's technically impossible or we both go into very deep recession for quite a while, however Australia could become the steel maker for the world and China can stop building stuff, actually not a real solution.

@yellowbird1170 No real reason Australian steel would be expensive , in fact the opposite , they in a closed market would have the cheapest iron ore and metallurgical coal, miners would of course lose out big time. It's not a practical solution for anyone and as I stated it would send both China and Australia into a deep economic downturn.
