  2. Populations go through phases, all of them and sometimes that means moving towards Authoritarianism, sometimes legitimately so and as reported sometimes not. Australia has of course moved towards a more Authoritarian approach with covid 19 and 90% of the population are happy with this because we successful in eradication meaning most of the time other than travel we have actually had relatively more freedoms than those countries , particularly in Europe plus the US that wanted it both ways, that is do nothing much and hope the virus goes away but then end up with continuous lockdown lite.
