Your statement is irrelevant, what's your age and BMI? If you tell me you're 23 and not overweight , well that's to be expected regardless of variant. If somehow you are 75 and obese , ok that's surprising, would expect more symptoms.

@jelenastevanovic5314 Killing 1% or 2% of the hosts makes no difference at all, it's still going to spread. So if it becomes twice as deadly it just means more die in the unvaccinated group at least.

@chriskona7652 I am 10 years younger than you and male and was just slightly overweight when got 90% certain but undiagnosed the original variant near beginning of 2020, probably nearly killed me and had long covid. Really bad headaches wake up with chest pains lasting minutes , eyes sealed shut from conjunctivitis, herpes flared up more than ever done previously. There's a wide range of outcomes but all indications are that Omicron about 75% less deadly and my guess that percentage probably applies to symptoms also. Anyway it's great you had no problems.

@chriskona7652 I am in Australia and we are opening up but have to see how it goes, Singapore opened up before my state of Queensland and they backtracked, New South Wales opened up like Florida around the same time as Singapore and they backtracked slightly putting some restrictions in. In Queensland we opened up the border as in let the virus in about a month ago but put in mask restrictions for shopping basically at the same time, so far we have just kept it as is and all border restrictions domestically to finish in 2 days, our cases skyrocketing and deaths are starting. Half of all our deaths since the pandemic began were in the last week, this will be confronting to many. Numbers are still very low but we haven't got used to it like other jurisdictions, this is why I think it's possible we might do a Singapore but I hope not. I do agree have to open up some how but it's going to be different for every jurisdiction and in Australia's case it's several jurisdictions because the states and territories are truly running their own internal show.

Ever heard of the Spanish flu or 1918 flu pandemic, flu has been around for thousands of years. It's suspected it came from some animal and back to humans, Covid 19 infects some animals too. So it's certainly possible, that's why they killed off all those mink, but covid 19 has been found in wild deers for example. We can only hope it doesn't happen without any knowledge of the probability. Omicron was improbable, it surprised all the scientist.
