  2. They are scary especially to countries like Vietnam, they looking not so far away at Thailand that was in a similar situation to them now only a couple of months ago.

  4. Using distance is correct, a long way away. Can use time also but wording different , maybe a long time to go. Because it's a saying it's meaning doesn't need to be literal. Agree it's 2 years off or whatever, still a long time though.
