  6.  @satoshiyoshida7530  it's what happened after you were a colony that's the problem, a one way trade deal where all US goods could be sold into the Philippines tariff free and all Philippines goods were taxed and quotas as well was made by a corrupt president that destroyed your economy. That situation lasted for 20 years and then supporting dictatorship like Marcos. Things are better now however the Philippines is too shut off to foreign investment based on historical fears. The US no longer treats the Philippines bad though, problems are internal. Now China wants your sea. So can understand why people in the Philippines think the way they do. If you look at the outcomes of ex colonies on average English colonies have done better than French or Spanish and other European or in your case Spanish and then US. My opinion forgive the US for the past , China is a direct territorial threat especially if you want to keep any sea on the Chinese side of your country.
