Well the death toll in Sweden is about 10 times that of India currently on a per capita basis. Just because the deaths weren't shown live on TV like they are being shown in India doesn't mean they didn't happen. India does have serious hospital capacity problems and this makes the deaths more real or obvious but to the dead and their families it doesn't make any difference.

@hurmur9528 Certainly India's official deaths and cases are significantly undercounted but it's unlikely that they are undercounted enough at this time to have a per capita death toll like that of Sweden, 10,000 deaths per day right now from covid 19 in India is an entirely reasonable guess. It's true Sweden has certain things that made handling the pandemic easier and not so bad in overall performance compared to other like minded countries. Being fairly socialist country with high government spending to GDP and a good government balance sheet with good public sector healthcare and a good social welfare safety net. The thing is though with such a good starting position to handle such an event Sweden has not performed well at all, you even sort of stated it regarding India and how much better Sweden's healthcare is to start with. The approach by WHO region made the most difference actually up to now but this might change in the case of South East Asian WHO region (South Asia plus a some ASEAN countries) took a middle of the road approach overall. Undeniably at this point in time Western Pacific WHO region has outperformed all others, Philippines is the worst in that WHO region and is at about one eighth of Sweden in per capita deaths.
