I think it's great dedication actually but it failed. Better than rioting on the streets.

Countries with high vaccination rates and maintaining some restrictions are doing fine. The countries with lots of antivaxxers are the ones struggling and this was not predicted.

@andreaerling7614 I just had a look at hospital beds and ICU beds per capita and compared to my country Australia. Germany has twice as many beds and 4 times as many ICU beds per Capita. So can't say it's about neglect, maybe it's disfunctional I don't know. The US spends more on publically funded healthcare than Australia but their public healthcare isn't universal. As far as the antivaxxers I get your point about them existing in part because of governments poor messaging and giving the appearance of rushing the vaccines in some cases. Look at my region whether it be Japan or South Korea or New Zealand and Australia, we all very slow and cautious in the vaccine rollout but now some of the highest vaccinated rates in the world overtaking most of Europe. I reiterate what I originally said countries with high vaccination rates and some restrictions are doing fine , as far as fixing the countries that went from failure to failure because each failure compounds the next failure, it's looking pretty difficult.

@hannahm2430 What are you talking about? Read my comment above, an entire region with less than 10% of the deaths of other regions on a per capita basis, I would suggest our region does know what it's doing and this covers many government types from the full on authoritarian to liberal democracies. No evidence that anywhere in my region in regards to covid 19 are trying to increase restrictions, in fact we are in the cautious opening up phase. My region Western Pacific WHO region and the other regions that are doing poorly European WHO region and PAHO Pan-American Health Organization region.
