  1. It's not about lying, it's the official numbers are tested positive. Every country has many that have not been tested. Indications are about 20% of NY got the virus so the testing only picked up a small percentage actually. This is the same everywhere. There is no way to know accurately. If you want real estimates of cases detected the percentages of tests positive at a point in time will be a good indicator. If that number is above 5% then many cases are being missed I would think.
