  1. There is anecdotal evidence it may help. This is why there are some proper clinical trials going ahead to see if it does work and also risks. All powerful drugs have some inherent risk.

  2. You don't know if it worked only that it did no harm unless you were part of a double blind clinical trial and the results of the trial demonstrated that.

  3. I am a foreigner and I agree with you. The polls by reputable outfits like Gallup I think can be considered as unbiased. All polls have error so it could be even worse no way to know.
