@Dean Clark Well as the advisor to Trump that's where Trump appears to have got most of his information. When Fauci realized that the US was slow to act he did acknowledge more lives could have been saved if earlier action was taken. Trump then diverged from Fauci at approximately that point in time. Trump's actions after the divergence have caused further harm in my opinion.

@James Caley yes he thought the US had it under control and they didn't and possibly it's not much worse than the flu. Fauci dropped the ball .

He was speaking from a global perspective to an extent and yes it happens relatively speaking all the time, it's not a prediction of what happened and the exact virus or bacterial type of outbreak.
