@finn8248 calm down if you can for your own sake. Things will change I believe , but only if American look outside of the US. If the majority which still seems to be the case accepts some of the highest healthcare costs for a government because uneven social medicine is good versus the communist cheaper option adopted by all other OECD countries. Note no country prohibits people travelling to the US and buying the possibly superior non emergency care. The federal voting system is crap because you don't actually have one, eligibility is decided by state. How about having a government run by elected officials rather than the elected king chooses the unelected executive government. The US had possibly the best democratic system for a nation about 220 years ago. At the time a musket was a sophisticated military weapon and having a wagon with true round wheels was the state of the art. Your democracy is like those other examples, don't hang on to it, appreciate history and move on.

@susansuewwilliams all communists are socialist but not all socialist are communist. The US has limited socialism on a level slightly higher than say Australia or New Zealand, see Economic Freedom Index by Heritage Foundation which is a pretty good guide of how socialist a country is. The US likes to direct it's socialism to the corporate sector and farmers, not to provide a social welfare safety net including healthcare which people in the US for some reason don't like. People in the US prefer to pay more in taxes for what is a substandard public healthcare system which isn't universal. Consider the last year it's likely the public healthcare bill has blown out considering all the Covid 19 costs and just the ppe alone and 400,000 excess to normal deaths. The universal healthcare system run by Australia has possibly led to 15,000 excess deaths ( population adjusted number) however we won't know the real number until the complete year is accounted for and it's possible Australia increased life expectancy because fewer deaths from things like the flu. So the socialists supporting your current system in the US are totally ok with this and are often beneficiaries of the socialist system in place like old people on Medicaid. The majority of people in the US have decided for now that's how they like it. No true communist countries exist anymore where everything is state owned and no private enterprise, North Korea is pretty close though.
