  1. A typical margin for a mass retailer is 2 to 3%, a typical margin for mass manufacturing especially of low end goods might reach 5%. Even if manufacturers and retailers wanted to absorb tariffs unless those tariffs are well below the margins it's a technical impossibility. I don't know what MAGA people think these companies margins are but clearly MAGA people are delusional.
