  2. You are correct China will be hated by many countries when they own everything, resources all sent to China while local population stays poor and debts to China that they can't pay, exactly why the US is disliked in many countries because they did this in the past.

This is where the conversation goes off the rails, the US deliberately spread the virus around it's own country because restrictions were considered a bigger violation of human rights than allowing what has turned out to be 600,000 to die as you correctly point out die up to this point in time, this number doesn't include increased deaths for other reasons. If the US had dealt with 500 incoming cases the whole world would be in a better position.

Chinese do support it, they believe the US has 200 secret bioweapons labs in secret locations all around the world etc. etc. They believe covid 19 probably came from the US and second choice Australia or Italy. Have to remember it's easy to convince people of things if you can shut down and censor all argument.

  9.  @Thephilpw99  you mentioned other nations, I consider my country Australia and also Vietnam, Taiwan (although not looking good at the moment) and New Zealand to be other nations/jurisdictions who have done similarly well to China, we are all part of the Western Pacific WHO region where it appears we cooperated and decided on 14 days mandatory enforced quarantine usually in a hotel and the worst performing country in the region the Philippines has just passed the 10% per capita death rate of the US. The PAHO Pan-American Health Organization region decided upon no travel restrictions and 10 days voluntary quarantine, the office headquarters is in Washington DC so pretty sure the US had something to do with that decision, both the left and right side of politics in the US agreed with this decision so actually no division on a regional level or within the US. The European WHO region had the same policy to PAHO. A little knowledge goes a long way or it's just mere coincidence that 70 countries or whatever it was had policies that aligned with WHO region.

  11. Trump was very easy for the CPC to understand, they have a lot in common actually. Biden is difficult for them to understand and deal with because you can't just show him some shiney beads and other countries come into play, Trump was isolationist and didn't care even about allies.

  14.  @montoyali  You've been listening to Zhao Lijiang too much, the US doesn't force Australia to do anything. China fundamentally misunderstands Australia and is incapable at this point in time of understanding why we have the positions we do, they are used to dealing with poor and or corrupt nations which do to a large extent shut up and do as they are told. Australia is partly to blame too because we don't understand them but the person I mention above makes things impossible, he is doing damage to China's reputation around the world. Australia isn't the only country to effectively have trade sanctions but we have had the most and it's probably highest profile. Australia is an influence of calm in the region especially with Joe Biden at the helm in the US who will listen to Australia amongst others to a far higher degree than Trump who cares for no one. Consider Australian and New Zealand view towards Vietnam, we resumed diplomatic relations in 1975, the US took until 1995. Fundamentally nothing has changed and China choosing to bypass the entire region and say they only talk to the US is really damaging. On the Covid 19 issue it was decided by region actually or a remarkable coincidence, the Western Pacific region of WHO has 4 countries extremely closely aligned on the matter, China including Taiwan, Vietnam , Australia and New Zealand. I don't know what discussions went on and by which countries but we all agreed to 14 days mandatory enforced quarantine usually in a hotel, PAHO Pan-American Health Organization region and European region of WHO all agreed to 10 days voluntary quarantine and we can see the results is less than 5% deaths per capita in the Western Pacific region of WHO compared to the other 2 regions I mentioned. So behind the scenes you might find even Australia and China in full cooperation on the matter of the response.

  15.  @montoyali  I don't know the details but when you say some Senator say something, well so what, they don't represent the government, you have just given an example of how China doesn't understand, we don't listen to our backbenchers why is China. I did look up who you were talking about because I was unaware of it. If a backbencher makes some remark it gets ignored but China thinks it's some big conspiracy. Backbencher is a politician with no position, just elected member nothing more than that. Of course out of 220 people who in total , so maybe 180 backbenchers there will be varying views on things and remarks said, nothing remarkable about that, however it might be remarkable in China if a backbencher was to criticise Xi for example. Even if you don't listen to Zhao directly, I don't either clearly indirectly the info comes through, people share things he posts in the hundreds of millions of users on the social media platforms in China.

  16.  @montoyali  No Zhao Lijiang is the official spokesperson for foreign affairs , what he says or displays is the government position. It's completely different to an elected member of the party who holds no official position saying something, same applies to the US although different democratic structure and ministers (secretaries of this and that) aren't elected they are chosen by the president, so if the president or his ministers speak that's official, in effect all elected officials at their federal level except the president are actually backbenchers. Calling Zhao Lijiang the spokesperson by definition means it's the government position even though technically he isn't in government I believe but more akin to one of those US ministers. Freedom of speech allows the calling out of the bullshit , in China they bullshit even more and nobody can say anything.

  17.  @montoyali  The reason that the CPC can bullshit more is because nobody can really criticise, talking amongst friends doesn't count which Chinese people often note they are free to discuss things privately. I can find within the same documentary type format arguments that say Australia should just comply with China as well as the widely held and strengthening position , stuff China no way in hell we are going to crack down on our media even the parts the majority consider to be a little crazy. How many times have you seen Chinese media highly critical of the agressive actions in the South China Sea or criticisms of economic coercion policy, that is trade sanctions against any country who China has a disagreement with? So to give Trump as an example he bullshitted all the time and it lost him reelection because the free media was free to criticise.
