Most US states did the same having nursing homes with covid 19 positive people and those not yet infected, it's about the cover-up of information, I think evidence of the same is likely to emerge in other states, So far only New York and Florida, I think there are more.

Cover up number 3 on Covid 19 , The ex president of course, Florida not counting cases particularly well in October 20 , sends armed raid to whistleblowers home to gather evidence of releasing government information ( don't know what happened , haven't followed it) and now we find New York disinformation campaign. Wuhan China local government covered up also and got sacked. China and the US are morally equivalent when it comes to covid 19 cover up behaviour, in fact the US is probably worse because 3 known cases is systemic behaviour. Probably a lot more state governments have done it one way or another.

common since the US is currently equal fifth with 2 other countries for deaths per capita of total population from covid 19 and when it's looked at objectively has a bipartisan approach of open borders and voluntary quarantine in all cases. Maybe your media should do a non partisan story of 1 year of absolute failure but not going to be popular because everyone will look bad. Cover ups are the next best thing I guess and it shows intent rather than intent plus absolute incompetence and disfunction of the US. It's my personal opinion an in depth story covering all failures with this situation for Americans to get rid of "American exceptionalism" wouldn't be a bad thing. American exceptionalism is really bad in my opinion, homicide rates , life expectancy, poverty of bottom 20% of population etc. etc. is all excused because you are exceptional and don't need to look outside the US for what might work better. I am Australian and I probably offended you but the US really needs a wake-up call of some sort. Edit: maybe "American Exceptionalism" could be the title of the documentary.
