@JoeDeglman Maybe you should just go and look at worldometer covid 19 statistics. Also check which countries are in the Western Pacific WHO region , I am in Australia but just go through the list country by country and you will find that deaths are less than 10% on average on a per capita basis compared to PAHO Pan-American Health Organization region and European WHO region. Take China out if you want and you will see compulsory covid 19 measures certainly do work.

Strange comments in this thread it's not an either or, should be vaccinated and if low on Vitamin d or zinc should take supplement and evidence does suggest it helps.

@JoeDeglman you don't know what per Capita is do you and how to compare, let's make it simple. In Australia 0.008% of the population has died from covid 19, In the US 0.25% of the population has died from covid 19. Do you understand this concept and how restrictions certainly played a part?

No, if you were in the 65+ age group you had a 1% chance of dying from covid 19 since the pandemic started. People are still dying so that number will keep increasing until all infected or dead from any cause. Fortunately most are vaccinated so it is already reducing the deaths.

@brandonyul1570 The people getting killed from the virus or gun shot wounds aren't exactly free are they and in general they are not volunteers sacrificing their lives for you. Consider others , being vaccinated reduces your chance of spreading it, yes it doesn't eliminate the chance but something is better than nothing and if you have a gun safely store it at home.

@brandonyul1570 They got sick and died because someone infected them and a 10 year old kid shot to death was certainly killed, like a free range chicken, didn't see it coming. @brandonyul1570 I watch CGTN sometimes too to see what the far right Chinese propaganda machine is up to, your suggestion that if someone watches news outside of their own country that means they want to live there is ridiculous. Americans should watch more foreign news rather than the mostly highly partisan local news you have. Having some knowledge of the world is a good thing rather than always looking inwards.

@richardhorn7688 If 13% of people 65+ died in a period of 2 years I would be surprised. The other thing is bad habits aren't very contagious.
