  2. I think things much more simple than that right now, China just wants some discount stuff. Food is an international commodity, cheapest is best, iron ore and coal the cost in most cases delivering to market in China from Russia far more expensive and takes years to build the necessary rail infrastructure. They want cheap oil, gas and food while they can get it, simple as that and Putin being in a weak but strong as in can control what happens makes Russia the perfect victim for now.
