  1. Well based on 2018 numbers West Virginia, Alabama and Mississippi have lower life expectancy than people in Mexico and Mexico isn't exactly a great performer on this measure either. China will likely overtake the US life expectancy number in the next few years if it hasn't already due to the US covid 19 response. Because the US doesn't look at it's peers as in other wealthy countries this will be significant because the US does like to compare itself to China.
