  1. Once you hear the words "I don't know the answer to that, I'll get back to you" in one of these types of press conference you can relax. It's probably the most common line used in jurisdictions across the world except for China and previously the US ( still applies to many US states though I suspect). China it's all prearranged so journalists don't get to freely ask questions so I think you can never hear that. US it was for outright deception when Trump spoke.

  2.  @TiqueO6  thanks for telling me what 4th estate means. Now after a couple of searches I understand the Canadian 5th estate tv show naming. I had no idea what it was and just thought weird name. In Australia I have never heard of these "Estates" . Seems it might be North American language only if in English, my search indicated some French origins also.

  3. No it just wouldn't be helpful. It would be completely counterproductive. Biden will have a hard enough job, if his subordinates start talking of the past it will only be harder. Very sure Biden would have made this clear.

  4. No the PCR test detects all covid. A genomic test is required to determine strain and the US doesn't do this testing to use Fauci's words as much as they would like and hopefully can improve on that. Extremely likely all strains are inside the US, still no quarantine at the border only a voluntary scheme pretty much guarantees this.
